Phoenix Beverages through its sustainability pole, PhoenixEarth Initiative, is proud to launch the "Reseal to Recycle" campaign, aimed at educating and empowering the Mauritian population on the importance of recycling.
This campaign encourages everyone to keep the caps on their PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles when disposing of them, ensuring that they can be efficiently recycled along with the bottles.
Building on Success: Continuing Environmental Progress
This campaign follows the successful "I am Recyclable – Boutey Retourne, Boutey Resikle" initiative, which focused on educating the public about PET recycling.
Now, we are taking our efforts a step further by highlighting the crucial role that HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) or Polypropylene (PP) bottle caps play in the recycling process. By focusing on these caps, we aim to optimise recycling practices and reduce environmental impact across Mauritius.
Why "Reseal to Recycle" Matters

The improper disposal of bottle caps is a significant issue in current recycling practices. While PET bottles are commonly recycled, the caps, often made from HDPE or PP, are frequently discarded separately. These materials are fully recyclable, but when not attached to the bottle, they can easily end up in the environment, contributing to pollution.
